Gambling resolution - Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy can stop the destructive gambling cycle.

I have 8 years extensive experience combining hypnotherapy with addictions at New Roads (Addictions) Ltd in York, and 9 years working with private clients.

The results of my successful hypnotherapy project at New Roads (Addictions) Ltd have been picked up by the local, regional and national press, BBC Radio York, and BBC 'Look North'.

My press articles include:-

'It's a Safe Bet to Say We're All Gamblers Now - as Addicts End Up the Big Losers'- Yorkshire Post (11/04/2012)

As a result of this wide-ranging experience I have developed a comprehensive GAMBLING PROGRAMME. I have found this approach is the best way to achieve success.

This programme includes an initial 30 minute phone consultation, 3 x 90 minute in person therapy sessions, one of my specialised hypnotherapy cds (to help prepare you for the work we need to do in the appointments), hand-outs to support the change process, and a follow-up phone session (if needed).

'I just can't be bothered to gamble anymore. I can't believe it!' James, York

'I'm doing so much better. The gambling is in the past. I've moved on' Mark, Harrogate

Most hypnotherapists work purely with suggestion / aversion therapy. My approach includes finding and resolving any deep-rooted reasons for your underlying gambling habit, so as to eliminate the possibility of simply changing this habit for another e.g. food, alcohol, drugs.

The hypnotherapy identifies the originating incident, from which a programme has effectively been set, and then keeps running and running a bit like a computer. Through hypnosis we can resolve this originating incident so that then your gambling cycle is broken.

I will also teach you techniques to deal with any potential urges / cravings to gamble. It is essential to have a relapse prevention strategy and to ensure you never have another bet again, as that would only feed the addiction cycle and set off the chain reaction. A client of mine once said 'I have to avoid the first bet. I know I cannot stop easily once I place that first bet. It's like a taste of cocaine. It is a drug. Once is never enough'.

These techniques can be used to stop the feelings associated with gambling building up in the first place. I have repeatedly heard that these feelings can build up to such a high uncomfortable level that the only way to then release them is to gamble.

As well as anxiety other emotions can be the link for the need to gamble including guilt or excitement. Gambling can also be an escape for some, for others there is often a deep childhood association with their parents. It maybe is not being able to give up chasing a win, always trying to get their money back, or a pull / draw to gambling which just won't leave them alone. Everyone is different and it is important to establish, and resolve, their own reason. On a subconscious level I find people are getting something from gambling although logically on a conscious level they know they are not getting anything positive from it whatsoever!

I have a very HIGH SUCCESS RATE. It is important however you undertake any 'homework' I may give you. I can help you but your collaboration is essential for us to then achieve your goal of stopping gambling completely.

Your investment in this programme will be recouped many times over. How much financially have you lost in gambling thus far? What effect has gambling had on your personal life?

Make sure GAMBLING is NEVER a part of your life AGAIN!!

I also offer a FREE 20 minute in person or telephone initial consultation which places you under no obligation whatsoever. This is an opportunity to discuss the specific problem, and ask any questions.

I work at Jorvik Medical Practice, which is a doctors surgery in the centre of York.
